Molecular graphics and computation
Single Crystal Spectroscopy:
Olympus BH-2 and SZ60 stereo microscopes
Hardware / Instruments
Our in-house data collection instrument is a Rigaku R-Axis IV++ imaging plate system mounted on a Rigaku RU-H3R rotating anode generation with Max-Flux confocal optics and an Oxford Cryosystems liquid nitrogen cold stream device.
We have active, highly rated proposals at SSRL for both protein crystallography and SAXS and carry out synchrotron data collections either remotely or in person about several times each year.
An Art Robbins Phoenix crystallization robot and CrysCam are available for setting up crystallization plates and imaging drops. Crystallization experiments can be performed at controlled temperatures or in an inert atmosphere.
Computational facilities include Linux and Windows computers, some equipped with stereographics capabilities.
Spectroscopy equipment includes a Wyatt Nanostar DLS instrument and a modified 4DX crystal microspectrometer with a Spectral Instruments CCD array detector and cryostream coolilng.
